Dr. Ken Swayman was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island. He attended Florida State University and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Science, Cum Laude. In 1990 he graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine with high honors and was named to Pi Delta National Honor Society and Who’s Who among college students in America. After completing his Residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery in Seattle, Washington, Dr. Swayman made his way to Anchorage joining Alaska Podiatry Associates (Alliance Foot & Ankle).

His primary office is on the campus of Alaska Regional Hospital, he is also on staff at Providence Alaska Medical Center and Creekside surgery center. He enjoys teaching and has been a consultant and speaker to many groups and organizations in Alaska, and is an Affiliate Professor and Consultant Team Physician for the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Among his many interests and activities is the love and appreciation of the Alaskan wilderness , he enjoys hiking, backpacking and camping, especially long-distance hikes. Together with his wife Terese and their loving dogs they walk many miles on our spectacular trails. He enjoys and is a fan of all sports especially ice hockey, he is a huge fan and supporter of his sons goaltending endeavors and he plays in the adult hockey league and has been known to score some goals at times. With his Alaska Husky Jade, they are a certified Pet Therapy Team and volunteer in the Anchorage community to help brighten people’s days.
