Dr. Mark Shearer, DPM was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. When he was in high school he became interested in podiatric medicine and surgery. While attending South Anchorage High School and through King Career Center, he entered a preceptorship at Alliance Foot and Ankle. It was at this time that he decided to make Podiatry his future.
He attended undergraduate college at Eastern Washington University where he played on the school rugby team. He graduated from podiatric medical school in New York City, and he completed residency in Binghamton, New York. During his residency Mark was awarded for his outstanding performance and service as a resident. After residency, to further his education, Mark went on for an additional year of training at the North Jersey Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship. Being selected at one of the few foot and ankle fellowships in the country provided opportunities to be trained in the most up-to-date and advanced level of foot and ankle surgery.
Mark is excited to bring his training back to Anchorage and to serve his hometown. As a lifelong Alaskan, Dr. Shearer enjoys all that Alaska has to offer. He is an outdoor and sports enthusiast and currently plays in a local adult hockey league.
Mark relates to people of all ages and all levels of activity. With his easy-going nature, kindness, and exceptional training there is no problem that Mark is not equipped to handle.
For over three decades Alliance Foot and Ankle Clinic has been providing comprehensive medical and surgical foot and ankle care. We are thrilled and very excited to have Dr. Mark Shearer join our group and continue our tradition of service and professionalism.
